Welcome to Valley Primary School!
A very warm welcome to Valley Primary School. The school has been serving families in the heart of Shortlands since 1889 and today, this two-form entry school is proud to serve an ethnically rich community.
We are a happy, hardworking school that has high aspirations and a caring, family ethos at its core. Indeed, visitors instantly comment on the warm, friendly atmosphere they experience throughout the school.
Guided by our Core Values of Care, Learn Together, Aim High, Be Honest, Look After What We Have, our main aim is to nurture tomorrow’s global citizens within a learning community where everyone feels valued, has the opportunity to explore, develop their strengths and participate in new experiences.
At Valley, we pride ourselves on developing a culture that promotes confidence, sustains high academic achievement, physical health, and emotional wellbeing. Through our teaching and the role models we offer, we firmly believe that primary education has a fundamental role to play within society in combating discrimination, promoting fairness, justice, and equality.
It is a privilege to lead this unique seat of learning: the commitment of staff and the natural creativity and quiet resolve of its pupils never ceases to amaze me and this is what makes Valley Primary School the special place it is.

Community Iftar
It was lovely to welcome so many families on the evening of Wednesday 27th March to Valley's first-ever Community Iftar. A warm, red lentil soup (kindly prepared by members of our kitchen team) was served to break the fast along with dates and water followed by a delicious buffet supplied by families and staff members. Thank you to all those who came along to this event.
